172/365: Tuvan throat singer
Today is Make Music New York, so a few of us went to see Alash, a group of Tuvan throat singers. Throat singing is notable because a singer can produce more than one tone at a time. It's some pretty cool stuff.
Photos of other groups performing at MMNY are here.

Really cool shot. I miss stuff like this in NY.
This is so nice in B&W.
Ianqui, I've been wondering what camera you shoot with and what lenses...care to share?
I'm in the process of deciding for my own future DSLR purchase.
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D). Now there's the new model, the XTi. It has 10MP, and it auto cleans the lens, but otherwise it's exactly the same only more expensive.
Here's a recent NYT article evaluating new dSLRs. (He actually didn't like the Canon XTi as much, but I understand that as being primarily because of the camera body, which is actually very good for women with small hands.)
I happen to have Canon brand loyalty, but I think that Canon and Nikon both have excellent image quality. On the other hand, the Canon interface is much easier to use, in my experience.
I use the kit lens as my wide angle lens (the lens that basically comes with the camera), and the Canon EF IS 70-300mm for my zoom lens.
Thanks, Ianqui.
Your info and the link are much appreciated.
Fascinating stuff
