An interruption for a technical question
A kind new reader left a comment on my previous picture suggesting that I reduce the size of the pictures because the page is slow to load. Oddly enough, I actually increased the size of the pics at one point because I noticed that most photobloggers have larger size photos.
I understand that this may be a problem for some people, so I'm taking a poll about the best way to solve this it. One reason the other photobloggers don't have a problem is because they have fewer pictures on the page (I have 15!). So, there are a few ways to deal with a slow loading page:
(1) Reduce the size of the pictures
(2) Cut down the number of pictures on the page to, say 5 or 7 (a weeks worth?)
What do my faithful viewers think is better?
UPDATE: OK, I have cut the number of posts to 7 per the front page, and yes, older photos can still be accessed by clicking on the archives. But if you still want to give your opinion, it's still being solicited.

cut down the pics... although they load instantaneously for me 100% of the time... I like the pictures larger, you can see more detail in them.
now if I were only layout savvy enough to figure out how to do it ;-)
I've never had any problems with your page.
But if you have to make a change, I guess I 'd say leave the pics large and reduce the number. They could still be accessed from your archives, right?
The page also loads instantly for me. But to help those with slow load times, fewer pictures per page would be what I would choose. I like the large photos. Anyway, people should be checking the page on a daily basis for your latest photo! Shame on them for waiting a whole week or even more.
funny, i open all my 365ers in tabs while i go about other 'net business so i never see how slow they load...
keep the size of the photos though.
This is the first time I've ever visited your site but I really like the size of the pictures on the page. It's a photoblog and you can't worry about people who are using dial-up to try and access your site.
I would even put your posts back up to at least 10-15 on the front page.
Don't resize the pictures, tell your reader to join the 21st century and switch to broadband.
well, whatever you do, don't reduce the size of the pics!
don't make the pictures smaller - that would be sad! I like the compromise of haveing less images on the front page.
I agree - I'm a fan of fewer photos on the front page.
cut down the # of pics....I love the size of yours! I haven't ever had trouble though....
I like them as they are. The larger size is easy to load (for me), and the photos are of a large enough size to see detail in them. I'd keep 'em as they are.
I'm too late to vote, but I like the big photos too - your shots deserve the big size. For what it's worth, on my photo blog, I'm going back and forth between big and medium sizes depending on how I feel about the photo.
Keep them as they are. I love the size of your photos!
