August Retrospective

I'm just going to chime in with everyone else and remark that August must have been the slump month. It felt hard to find interesting subjects. And yet, I despair that I'm thinking this now, because with classes starting and the cold weather coming eventually, it's only going to get worse. I hope not.

I thought your blue door, the hard hats, and the garden window/door one were all fabulous. So I don't think you were off. But maybe August is a month that begs to transition to something else: new weather, new schedules, new season. I feel like my photos have been spotty, for sure.

I feel better that I'm not the only one thinking that August is a slump month! However, I look at your photos and think it's not a slump months. I liked the blue door, 5 Pointz (blew my mind!), hard hards, urban geometry, livening up concrete, all of the different veggie / pepper shots (including the cartoon one), and glass stripes. I always like your photos.

Well I, too, thought your August shots were great.

I love the grafitti shot. My daughter wants to make it into a poster for her room!

But I do relate to feeling the strain of the project!

Presumably the changing of the seasons will bring lots of new perspectives to photograph for you, though. Whereas in Georgia, there won't be much in the way of seasons changing.

And I agree with everyone else that you had some really nice shots this month, despite the slump.

Ampersand--that's great! I'd be happy to send your daughter the large size of the photo in case she really does want to get it printed out at a larger size.

I love your shots slump month or not.

You've given me a whole new way to see my city. I notice windows and doors, little signs, graffiti and people I might have merely walked by. Now I stop and think - ianqui would make that a great shot!

That would be wonderful, Ianqui.

Send it to ampersandprime at yahoo dot com.

I'm not sure of the attachment size limitations for yahoo, but try, and if it does not work I'll send you my *real* email addy from there.

Daughter says thx!
